The deal
We run an app for organising mah jongg groups. You use it to run your group. Be decent to the other people in your league; we can close an account that is used to harass somebody.
Your league's data is your league's
The roster, sessions and scores belong to the organizer and the players, not to us. We store it, keep it working and export it on request. We don't sell it and we don't mine it.
Subscriptions
Free covers one league, eight players and one season, which runs as long as you like. Pro lifts those limits. It's charged by the App Store or Google Play, whichever you bought it from, and that store handles the money, the cancelling and the refunds. A subscription belongs to whoever bought it. If a subscription lapses nothing is deleted: a league inside the free limits carries on, and a larger one keeps showing everything but stops accepting changes until it is upgraded or trimmed. Handing a league to a new owner hands over the league, not the subscription: the league stays Pro for 30 days so the new owner can sort it out, once per league per year.
The card
The National Mah Jongg League's card is theirs. Mahj League contains none of it, no hand list and no helper, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the National Mah Jongg League. You record what a hand was worth; what was on the card stays on the card.
Dues
If your organizer sets up a Venmo or Cash App handle, the app opens those apps with an amount filled in; if they take cash, you pay them in person. Either way that payment is between you and them. We are not a party to it and cannot refund it. Marking dues paid in the app is a record your group keeps, not a receipt.
The boring part
We keep backups and try hard, but this is software: we can't promise it is never down and we can't be liable for a game that went sideways. If we ever shut the service down, we will give notice and a way to export everything first. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York.
